2016 Annual Conference Highlights

The 2016 Annual Conference in Vancouver, Washington was beyond a success. I want to personally thank each of our members that joined us representing 39 states and 2 countries. The 2.5 days of education with multiple tracks was intense and relevant to the current and future needs of our industry. The conference also featured multiple off-site activities including tours of some of our integral sponsor’s headquarters.

The VHMA Annual business meeting was one of the highlights of the conference and gave an incredible overview of the health of our association. The year in review brought us 6% growth in membership, added member benefits, a healthy bottom line budget, and a detailed look at the strategic plan for the future of the association. We continued the meeting with the CVPM pinning ceremony where we welcomed in 13 new CVPM’s bringing our total active CVPM’s to 464. A 56% increase over the last four years. We ended the meeting with the presentation of the coveted VHMA President’s award. The 2016 recipient was Linda Markland, RVT with Nationwide. Linda continues to be a key contributor to our association and the industry as a whole. Her 40 of years of service made her an easy choice for the award!

Whether it be our Annual Conference, Management Exchange, or Regional Workshops coming in 2017, the most valued benefit to attending is the unbelievable collaboration and exchanges of information, stories, and trials and tribulations shared by each member.

Join us in 2017 and remember, this is your VHMA!
