Last President's Address

By Brian Conrad posted 09-20-2017 20:36

There are over 96,000 associations in the United States.  There is an association for just about everything you can imagine. You are likely to belong to at least a few. Many of us belong to organizations related to our personal interests, as well as professional associations that help us advance our skills and further our career.

I have been a member of the VHMA since 2002. Over the last 15 years I have benefited both personally and professionally from being a part of the VHMA. For the past eight years I have had the honor to serve on the VHMA Board and it has been a pleasure to watch an outstanding organization get even better. Membership has grown, programs expanded and more managers have been certified.

The association’s leadership remains strong with a vision to continuously improve. We have a growing and brilliant staff that is led by an executive director who is passionate and motivated to be the best.  We have a membership base that is willing to give back, helping lay the groundwork for future managers and leaders alike in what I consider the greatest industry I know.

As my president’s term comes to an end, I reflect on my personal journey within the VHMA. For as much dedication, effort, and energy I have placed and given to the association, I have received back many times over. It has been an absolute privilege to work alongside so many professionals, visionaries, and thinkers. For all of those that have shared this journey with me, thank you!  To our entire membership body, thank you for your loyalty and support and be excited to know, the best is yet to come.

Thank you for your leadership, energy, humor, and wisdom over the years and especially while you served as president Brian.
Well done, as always!
