Livin’ the VHMA Life

I have spent some time recently considering what makes VHMA such an amazing organization. Of course, it was easy to identify so many different reasons, i.e.: advanced continuing education, networking opportunities, CVPM certification, MemberConnect, webinars, Mastermind Groups, on-demand education, our recently published Compensation and Benefit Survey, and the list goes on and on. While these member benefits are certainly tools that differentiate us from others, they are not the real magic that sets us apart.

People. It’s the people in our association that elevates our success. It’s the tireless staff who support and advocate for our members. It’s the volunteers who selflessly share their time to advance the association. It’s our members. Our members who share their knowledge and experiences freely and without expectations. Our members who give so much of themselves to their practices and communities. Our members who bring their passion and energy to our profession.

I realized that our members are not just doing this because of their dedication to their job. This is a way of life. It’s in our values that propel us forward each day. It’s the VHMA Life. In that moment an idea was born. How can we celebrate the way our members contribute to the families and pets in their community? How can we capture the essence of our association in the way our members and staff care for one another? How can we express the benefits of sharing knowledge and the strength of an association focused on advancing every member?

The VHMA Life is an effort to encapsulate each of these ideas in a collage that conveys the heart of our association. It is a way to share what is difficult to put into words. VHMA Life is our way of recognizing the tremendous contribution each of our members makes every day.

Well, what do you think? How do you live the VHMA Life?

Share with us the great ways you live the VHMA Life. Let us know about the differences you make in your practice and your community. Show us the inspiration you get from your colleagues. Let us in on the fun you have with other members. We need the friendships, the passion, the learning, the funny and the love of the VHMA Life.

Help us celebrate and show the industry what VHMA Life means.
