Mastering the Profit & Loss Statement
THE JOURNEY TO A BETTER UNDERSTANDING

April 20, 2018 - Atlanta, GA

Marriott Atlanta Perimeter Center

Practice managers ensure practices run effectively and profitably while offering their patients the highest level of care. They balance diverse roles and responsibilities. Budgeting and accounting are just a few of the numerous tasks managers manage daily. Unfortunately interpreting monthly financial reports is an aspect of the job that causes many managers considerable discomfort.

To run a veterinary business successfully, a manager should to be comfortable with interpreting and working with the numbers in the financial reports, including the profit and loss statement, cash flow statement and balance sheet. These statements determine the health of the business. The profit and loss statement contains key information and shows if the practice is making money, breaking even or operating at a loss.

Comprehending the profit and loss statement and its potential for impacting the economic viability of the practice requires patience and a fundamental understanding of how the budget is derived. By sharing their personal experiences, the speakers will present a user-friendly approach to assist and inspire attendees to face their fears about the profit and loss statement. The workshop will cover budgeting basics to goal setting and everything in between. Before the workshop ends, participants will have an opportunity to work on a profit and loss statement and receive valuable feedback.

Multiple team members from each practice are encouraged to attend.
