VHMA surveyed veterinary professionals to uncover specific details about discounts and benefits routinely offered to employees
I am interested to find out what everyone gives for Dr discounts. Example; The doctors pet needs a dental or a SX, and they do it themselves, what would be a good discount plan?
Veterinary practices generally have three kinds of discount programs: employee benefits, marketing programs, and charitable contributions to the community
Among the most common benefits selected are: better pricing on lab services (64 percent), receiving equipment (43 percent), discounts off invoices (31 percent) and rebates (30 percent). Of those receiving discounts on lab services, discounts are concentrated in the 6-11 percent range (16 percent), 12-17 percent range (13 percent), and 18-22 percent range (15 percent). A fortunate 12 percent reported discounts of 40-45 percent
Regardless of the source, you find yourself suspecting an employee is stealing from the practice

It is not uncommon for 5-10% or even more of total revenue to be lost via discounts or missed charges in a typical practice.
