360 Degree Evaluations - are a tool used to collect full circle feedback from supervisors, peers and subordinates, typically associated with a team member’s review. The benefits of a 360 review is multi-fold; feedback from peers who work side by side with a team member can be more accurate than observations from a manager or supervisor, sometimes feedback from peers or subordinates is more meaningful to the team members being evaluated, and the feedback is a 360 degree look at the specific team member because the feedback comes from the top down, the bottom up and laterally. The 360 Degree Evaluation is typically arranged in a question survey format with the additional option of custom comments. The size of the hospital or facility may dictate how many team members will be asked to offer feedback since it isn’t practical for a staff of 40 to all evaluate one another because the collection and presentation of that much data could be time prohibitive. Some challenges to the 360 Degree Evaluation process include; monitoring feedback for bias or unprofessional comments and it can be more time consuming than traditional evaluations
