Click the Online Application Link when you are ready to start your application submission. You will be able to stop and save your application as needed allowing you to work on it until you are ready to submit it.

READ BEFORE YOU GO TO THE APPLICATION LINK:

All certification applicants and members will log into the Certification Portal using our Single Sign-On (SSO) technology linked to our VHMA database in YourMembership.

VHMA and Certified Member Instructions:

If you are a VHMA member, you already have a member profile in our VHMA database. When you go to the Certification Portal - click the YourMembership logo and enter your regular member username and password (each time you visit the Certification Portal). After you log in, SSO will take you back to the dashboard on the Certification Portal to access.

Nonmembers and New Certification Applicant Instructions:

If you are NOT an existing VHMA member you can search the VHMA database to see if a Non-Member Guest record already exists for you to use HERE (creating a new record when one already exists creates may create conflict with your application). Use your unique email address as the username. If a record exists, this is the account you will use to log into the dashboard on the Certification Portal. If you don't remember or don't know your password, you can use the “Forgot the Password” link to get or reset your password (use the "Forget the Password" link on the page linked above not on the Certification Portal login page).

After you've found your record and know your username and password - use the Link to the Online Application Form below. Click the YourMembership logo and enter your username and password (each time you visit the Certification Portal). After you log in, SSO will take you back to the dashboard on the Certification Portal to access.

If you don’t find an existing record in our VHMA database - you will need to create one. You can create a Non-Member Guest record here. Save your username and password. After you create your record, use the Link to the Online Application Form below. Click the YourMembership logo and enter your username and password (each time you visit the Certification Portal). After you log in, SSO will take you back to the dashboard on the Certification Portal to access.

The certification process recognizes veterinary practice managers who have achieved competence in veterinary practice management through their knowledge, practical experience, and accountability to their employers and peers. The process consists of three parts: the application, the examination, and ongoing recertification. The program application must be completed, submitted, and accepted by the Certification Board before scheduling an examination date.

The application documents the essential qualifications needed for veterinary practice management certification. All candidates for certification must meet these qualifications, there are no exceptions. The two areas in which a candidate for CVOM certification must qualify are:

EXPERIENCE - Acceptable experience is defined as active employment as a veterinary manager, performing a scope of duties that qualify as practice management for a minimum of one (1) year within the previous three (3) years.

REFERENCES - Two letters of recommendation are required as recognition of competence as a practice manager by employer(s) and peers.

Instructions for properly completing each section are contained in the application. Certain documentation is required and explained where necessary. The Certification Board reserves the right to require additional documentation or explanation of any question or section of the application.
