Program Updates & Annual Activities

Important Program Updates

 Effective April 1, 2024:

The CVPM Board has recently updated the guidelines which outline acceptable CE for the CVPM certification program application and renewal. Updates to the guidelines include clarity on how CE hours are calculated, applicable professional development activities and standards for qualifying certificate and certification programs that may be applied toward the program’s CE requirements.

Most of the changes are for instruction only and do not materially change the guidelines. While the VHMA and the CVPM Boards have always deferred to the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE) standards for certificate and certification programs, they are now included in the guidelines to determine acceptable CE. The CVPM program's commitment to meeting the credentialing industry's best practices in certification is evident in our NCCA accreditation.  We are now applying the same standards to programs we will accept toward our requirements.

Candidates that have already submitted a program application as of April 1, 2024, and CVPM certificants whose renewal is due 07/01/2024 or 07/01/2025 (your current renewal cycle) may submit CE under the prior guidelines. The updated guidelines apply to applications submitted after April 1 and to your next renewal cycle for existing CVPM certificants.

You can find the current CVPM CE Guidelines here.

 Effective April 1, 2024

The CVPM Board has amended the CVPM Program Procedures document to update the process by which a CVPM certificant will be delisted after non-compliance with program requirements. Additionally, the appeals process has been updated to provide clarity for how candidates can appeal an examination score and the process of review and determination of the final score. The changes are for instruction only and do not materially change the program's procedures.
